GRiT training provides an overview of stress, the added stress of overseas service, the unique stress of Christian service, and +P stressors (which are associated with service in hazardous places). It then teaches proven methods to develop godly resilience – resilience based on God’s grace, a deepening relationship with Him, and dealing with underlying “fleshly” vulnerabilities that emerge under times of intense stress. GRiT utilizes Dr. Hamilton T. Burke's book series, Effective Kingdom Service in Hostile Places: Advanced Training and Support for International Workers and the Organizations that Send Them (available on Amazon, but a free copy can be read online by participants).

GRiT is a self-paced six-week course (with two additional bonus lessons available covering Dr. Burke's suggestions for setting up member care for workers serving in hazardous places). Each lesson consists of a short video, reading assignments, discussion questions and a short quiz. Most participants find that each lesson requires about 8 hours to complete.
